On Christmas Day my Dad and I went out for a typical American breakfast consisting of french toast, waffles, bacon and syrup - I will miss this combo back in England. We headed to Central Park in the morning for a Christmassy walk. Where I live in England the streets and roads are completely dead on Christmas Day and no one dares to venture outside, however, the streets were typically full in New York (probably tourists) and the queue for the skating rink was huge in Central Park. I even saw a good 10 or so runners... who runs on Christmas Day? Ridiculous. Then we went to the Rockerfeller Center Cafe for our Christmas lunch that I had been looking forward to for a good few weeks. Although it wasn't typical turkey and roast potatoes, whilst overlooking people falling over on the Rockerfeller skating rink and giant Christmas tree I quite possibly had the best steak and chips (more like roast potatoes than chips) I have ever eaten in my entire life. An unusual but fantastically American Christmas.
Haha crazy people running on Christmas day! It does sound like a different Christmas, but it sounds lovely :)
