Favourites: MFW AW13

Wednesday 13 March 2013

This is clearly late (let's just say fashionably late) and I do apologise - i'm now back on track! Here are my favourite looks from Milan Fashion Week...

SPORTMAX
I loved the cubist approach to this AW collection. Quilted leather, waffle knits, pleated skirts, squares of fur and cross-body box bags dominated the looks. I think everything was completely wearable and beautifully designed too, well done to Sportmax!

MAXMARA
Oversized - check. Neutrals - check. I love these looks to bits - one thing I can't wait to experiment more with is the oversized and boxy look. I've always been meaning to get myself an oversized camel coat, it's simply a must!

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO
I loved the colour use in this collection and especially the strappy sandals. There was a sense of sixties with flicked eyeliner and miniskirts and an emphasis on the hips with large leather ties. Elegant minimalism.

MARNI
My absolute favourite collection! I found it hard to whittle the show down to three looks but I think they sum up the overall gist just about. Boucle, tweed, leather, suede and furs worked perfectly to form the perfect A/W wardrobe. I love the box shaped tops and gorgeous fur details.

VERSACE
And finally, Versace. Why not? To some, the collection was deemed as daring, adventurous and in most cases, unwearable. But I loved the take on the monochrome look with perspex, leathers and the touch of bright yellow fur.
