My new season shopping list is here. Isn't October the most exciting month to shop? It's definitely mine. Patent boots, chunky rib and fine knits, corduroy, autumnal prints, shearling jackets, occasion dresses, sleek jumpsuits... It's time to play with proportions - try pairing a long floral dress with powerful patent knee-highs or why not pair a full mensy suit in the office with some girly knotted mules?

P A R T Y

Party season is soon upon us. As retailers begin to flog us their best eveningwear - now is the time to invest in that Christmas party dress before it goes for good! This season, sexy only means two things; if you're going maxi then try a wrap dress style (low V-neck and a hint of leg) and if it's a mini then it's a high-neck. Remember, it's legs or boobs, ladies.

W O R K W E A R

There's a chill in the air - which means it's OK to up your knitwear game and show it off in the office. As I said, proportions are key this season - girly-up a mensy grey suit with some feminine pointed mules and layer bodiced pinafores over thin fine knit turtenecks.

C O A T S & J A C K E T S

The same contenders appear this season, but with a new twist. Double-breasted blazers return in mustard hues, red is the new pink, and faux furs qualities are better than ever before - make sure yours is longline - with a nod to the good ol' seventies.

C O R D O R O Y

Oh corduroy, how could I not have given you your own section this season?! Officially the fabric of 2017 - another big nod to the seventies is the return of this 'geography teacher' style favourite. Incorporate this into your look with a blazer or flared trouser - or a dress if you're feeling particularly brave!

S H O E S & B O O T S

There's no one way to do your footwear this season. From chunky boots to kitten heels - there's truly something beautiful for everyone this season. Shop my favourites below:

I'm delighted to see the return of the beret this season (especially as I'm off to Paris at the end of November!) Carry your things in a luxe embellished velvet bucket bag or clutch and invest in dainty, delicate jewellery - how timeless.

H O M E

Don't forget to update your home with a couple of ceramics or a little splash of mustard too - I'm obsessed with collating (and even creating my own) artwork at the moment as I'm working on building a gallery wall in the living room (strictly no prints allowed!)
